About Basketball

A team sport where two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball through the defender's hoop while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop.

The game is controlled by the officials consisting of the referee, one or two umpires and the table officials. For the NBA, the teams have 24 seconds to shoot the ball. Fouls are penalized and free throws may be granted. The ball is out of bounds if it touches a boundary line, or touches any player or object that is out of bounds.
